Community Shred Day @ Kirtland Community Center

Rain or shine! Bring your documents to be shredded for FREE!

All Kirtland residents are welcome to bring up to three bankers size boxes.

  • Proof of residency is REQUIRED (i.e. drivers’ license or utility bill).
  • Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed in advance.
  • Limit of 3 bankers size boxes per household. A banker’s box (15x12x10) is approximately the same size as a copy paper box for standard letter size paper.
  • Please bring documents in a container that can be discarded.
  • If you intend to witness your documents being shredded, be prepared to wait. Shredding is done on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Monitors and hard drives will NOT be accepted.

Veterans Day Ceremony & Lunch @ Kirtland Veterans Memorial

Veterans Day is November 11th, and all are cordially invited to the Kirtland Veterans’ Memorial at 11:00AM for a short ceremony of remembrance with American Legion Barber-Williams Post 609. At noon a lunch will be served at the Senior Center, please call ahead there for details if you wish to attend.

Kirtland City Council, pursuant to Kirtland Codified Ordinance Section 220.02, will hold a special meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the Kirtland Municipal Center, 9301 Chillicothe Road, Kirtland, Ohio for Third Reading of Ordinance No. 20-O-16 setting the appropriation for the year 2020 and Third Reading of Resolution No. 20-R-17 authorizing transfers of funds.

Brush Collection – Ward 4

The program is intended to assist residents with the annual spring clean-up of branches and twigs that have come down from the inclement winter weather. The program is NOT intended to assist with clearing a parcel or substantially clearing trees on a parcel. City trucks will pass only one time through each ward, so please have your brush and tree limbs out by the start date listed for your ward.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR BRUSH PICK-UP

  • Brush should be placed at the edge of the road and not in the drainage ditches.
  • Please keep the ditches and drains clean of debris at all times.
  • Brush should not exceed three inches in diameter or a maximum of four feet in length.
  • Brush bundles should not exceed 30 pounds and should be set out in an organized manner.
  • Bundling with twine is preferred to promote efficiency and safety.
  • The entire brush pile should not exceed 10 feet in width.
  • Unacceptable items include stumps, shrubs, ornamental grass, and Christmas trees.
  • No brush piles will be picked up if these requirements are not met.
