“Courageous is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of a readiness to die.” – G.K. Chesterton

As we remember those who gave their lives for our country and our freedom, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the men and women who worked so hard to honor our fallen brothers and sisters. Again, to the American Legion, the Garden Club, Kiwanis, the Boy Scouts, Kirtland Council, Police, Fire, and Service Departments, Kirtland High School Band, and retired Colonel Michael Stull – your efforts leading up to and including today gave right reverence to those who deserve it the most. Thank you. And to all who have lost their lives in service of our country, and to those who have or continue to serve – our City is a safer and better place because of you.
