The following are basic guidelines for
knitters to see where they belong for the following classes. These are guidelines onlyJ Feel free to contact the instructor to
discuss your level and see if the class you have chosen is for you!
BEGINNER: no
prior knowledge of knitting needed
ADVANCED
BEGINNER: Knit, purl, cast on, bind off, increasing,
decreasing, changing colors.
INTERMEDIATE: All
of the above plus basic circular knitting, basic lace patterns or yarnovers,
picking up stitches.

KNITTING 101 FOR KIDS (AGES 9 – 16)
Kids are creative too! Why not try knitting? This class will show the beginning knitter
how to cast on, bind off, knit, purl. Student should be able to know how to make
a simple scarf by the end of the session.

KNITTING 102 FOR KIDS *
Be even more creative now that you
know how to knit and purl!! This class is
a continuation of K101 and will show how to do increases, decreases, make
ribbing, and change colors. With
Knitting 101 and 102 behind you, the world’s at your feet in the knitting
world!
Supplies:
* Prerequisite Knitting 101 for Kids
or equivalent.
ENTRELAC
Entrelac is a neat stitch that looks like a basket weave pattern. When you have the technique down, you’ll want
to make lots of items. Watch what
develops – it’s very addicting!
Supplies: US
size 8 needles; one light- and one dark-colored (no black), smooth,
solid-colored, worsted weight yarn (wool/acrylic blend or 100% acrylic
is fine); scissors; tape measure; pencil; paper.
SLIP STITCH
While only using one color of yarn
on any given row, the Slip Stitch technique will make your work look colorful
and beautifully complicated even though it’s not!
