Officer Beall's Kirtland SAFETY TOWN 2008

Safety Town is a national safety awareness program designed to teach young children how to prevent accidents and how to react in dangerous situations.  It is intended for children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall.   Children will learn:

  • Proper bus safety

  • How to cross the street

  • Street signals & sign recognition

  • Animal safety

  • Water safety

  • Fire prevention

  • Stranger danger

  • Good touch / bad touch

  • Poison safety

  • Playground safety

  • Bicycle safety

COST:                   $45—residents*          $50—non-residents** *Resident registration begins March 10.**Non-resident registration begins May 1. 

A CALL FOR COUNSELORS! The Recreation Department is in need of a dozen middle and high school students to work as SafetyTown counselors. Counselors earn $75 and fifteen hours of community service time upon completion of the program. Applications are available at the Community Center.
